Weight Loss challengers of to a flying start.

Records have been broken on 2 levels. The first Andy hold has smashed the previous record of 16lbs in 4 weeks by achieving 20lbs lost in 3 WEEKS! Right behind him David on 18lbs, Tara on 17lbs, Jackie on 17lbs and Stacey on 16lbs so we have 4 record breakers. But more amazing is there combined weight loss which is 141lbs in 3 weeks thats just over 10 stone!  Everyone of them are in double figures, and all on target to beat the previous record of 16lbs in 4 weeks.

They are a really hard working group proving that with proper advice the right exercise and understanding nutrition makes a massive difference. Our system is effective and designed to help people achieve great results.

Barnstaple Personal Trainer:Caffeine Works Faster in Men Than in Women

Everywhere you turn there seems to be new Costa coffee or starbucks more and more of us consume caffeine every day in one form or another. Most people drink coffee, tea, or other caffeinated beverages Sometimes as a  pick-me-up to increase alertness But what about for weight loss? Caffeine stimulates the central nervous system which improves wakefulness, alertness, and some types of athletic performance. Some can tolerate more caffeine than others this is dependent on tolerance, body size and gender.

 

A University study in Spain showed that caffeine has a greater, faster effect in men than women. The scientists measured the short-term (first 30 minutes) and long-term (rest of day) effects of caffeine ingestion in nearly 700 college students. Coffee increased alertness within 45 minutes, but the effects were greater in men than women. Decaffeinated coffee also increased alertness, although the effects were less than regular coffee. In most people, the effects of caffeine last for 2-3hours, but can last as long as 10-12 hours in pregnant women and in people with liver disease.

Green Tea Decreases Abdominal Fat

Green tea is a popular weight-loss supplement that also improves blood sugar regulation and influences fat cell turnover. However it is not a magic potion or pill but it can help.  In recent study clinical research showed decreases in total abdominal fat, subcutaneous abdominal fat (under the skin), and blood triglycerides (blood fats) in people consuming a green tea beverage containing 625 mg of catechins and 39 mg of caffeine).  As part of the study the people in the study 180 minutes per week of moderate-intensity exercise.

Caffeine and catechins – particularly epigallocatechin – 3 – gallate – speed metabolism and fight fat. But if you’re a body builder  reading this the studies further found that it increased the conversion of testosterone to estrogen in fat cells, which is an effect body-builder needs. Green tea is an effective fat fighter that complements the effects of exercise. (Journal of nutrition, 2008)

A few Simple ways to a flatter stomach

Have you ever dreamed of that stunning “bikini body” for the beach or that “wash board” stomach to make others jealous of. Well achieving that dream isn’t that hard to do, all it takes is some few simple steps and I am going to share them with you now;

 

First of all you need to look at your diet. This is the fundamentals to a flatter stomach you could do all the exercise in the world, if you eat the wrong foods you aren’t going to achieve that flatter stomach you dream for. Eating the right foods will help you reduce those extra wobbly bits so your new improved abs will show through. Try and eat more proteins as these will keep you feeling fuller for longer. Foods such as chicken and turkey are great sources of protein which will help your body burn more fat and help build your muscles, in this case your abdominal muscles. Replace sugary drinks (even the diet variety) with water, drinking sugary drinks will only counter act the hard work your doing, so don’t do it!

 

Basic stomach exercises will help you to achieve your dream of a flatter stomach. Doing exercises such as “stomach crunches” are a great way to start, as these types of exercises concentrate on the abdominal muscles.

 

Aerobic exercise

Now you cant just do stomach exercises and you will get a flat stomach you need to have an overall fat burning regime. You can do all the crunches in the world but if you have a layer of flab covering up your tummy, all your doing is building muscles underneath your “flab” and by doing this you actually will look much rounder than flatter. Even just by doing 30 minutes of aerobic exercises such as cycling, jogging or an activity which gets your heart rate going 4 to 5 times a week is enough.

Do you find after you have had a workout you feel that you can do anything? Well that’s not just you it happens to all of us. That “high” you experience is due to your body being flooded with endorphins while exercising. Endorphins help to lift your mood and make you feel better about yourself, but it also help the body to release another important hormone, a hormone that affects your metabolism known as the human growth hormone (the natural hormone the body produces not the drug which some athletes use).
